Switzerland, Colombia and Spain among top winners as Portugal hosts 37th World Tourism Film Awards

The historic Teatro Jordão in Guimarães provided the backdrop for this year's World Tourism Film Awards, where 32 productions from 17 countries were recognised as the world's finest tourism videos.

The ceremony marked the culmination of the CIFFT Circuit — the leading global competition for tourism audiovisual content, which evaluates more than 4,000 entries annually through festivals across France, the United States, Spain, Portugal, Japan, Greece, Croatia and Serbia.

Switzerland Tourism claimed top honours in Country Promotion

Switzerland Tourism claimed top honours in Country Promotion for the third consecutive year with Falling for Autumn, a campaign pairing tennis legend Roger Federer with Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen. The Government of La Guajira took first place in Region Promotion for Discover La Guajira, while the Spanish municipality of Conil earned the City Promotion title with Conil, where land and sea embrace.

Host nation Portugal featured prominently throughout the evening. Turismo de Portugal secured first place in Tourism Products for Portugal's Unwritten Recipe — which also received the Tourism Press Award for its narrative strength and editorial impact — while the Tourism Services category saw a shared victory between Portugal's Nuri Factory Tour for NURI – The Secret of Nuri and Madrid Destino for Centro Danza Matadero.

Additional Portuguese recognition went to the municipalities of Manteigas, Fundão and Oleiros, alongside CIM Região Beiras e Serra da Estrela and PORTUGALNTN.

The GreenWorking Awards, a sustainability-focused initiative run jointly by CIFFT and Spanish agency Normmal with UN Tourism participation, honoured French production company Zéké Film with both the Message Award and Production Award. Ecuador's Mashpi Lodge earned the Global Award for the year's most impactful sustainable production.

–These productions stand among the most effective examples of audiovisual tourism promotion today," said Alexander V. Kammel, Director of CIFFT.

Entries for the CIFFT Circuit 2026 are now open.
